*** A Thousand Naked Strangers by Kevin Hazzard

The author of A Thousand Naked Strangers: A Paramedic’s Wild Ride to the Edge and Back has transported the dead, the dying, the insane, the cheapskates who just want a ride to the ER, and, occasionally, the perfectly well. He has stepped into living rooms and bathrooms, active shooting scenes, crime scenes, and most of the unsavory back alleys of his city, Atlanta. He describes the unrelenting gore but also the relationships with his partners, some wonderful and some terrifying, and the sometimes fractious connections between EMTs, hospital workers, and the police. It’s a wonderful first-person account, at least if you are not too squeamish.
