** Last Words by Michael Koryta

In Last Words a PI travels to a small town in Indiana to investigate an old murder, which turns out to be as much about the cave into which the murder walked alive, with her boyfriend, but from which she was carried out dead by another man whose strange lifestyle makes him the prime suspect. The sheriff, the cave owner, the victim, boyfriend, and suspect are all related in ways that our hero will uncover, and the uncovering is twisted and dangerous. I would have done without the mystical cave diatribes, but perhaps it’s just me.
