** Let’s Be Less Stupid by Patricia Marx

After yesterday’s tome, Let’s Be Less Stupid: An Attempt to Maintain My Mental Faculties is diminutive, both in heft and subject matter. The author romps through various techniques to improve what she feels are her diminishing mental faculties, mixing discussions of serious psychological research with funny stories of her shortcomings and errors and unhinged quizzes to test the reader’s mind.

It’s probably best to just enjoy the comic ride rather than try to make sense of it, and to avoid thinking too hard about the difference between  knowledge and intelligence, which the author eagerly conflates. Great sense of humor, pretty weak everything else.
