*** How To Read Islamic Carpets by Walter Denny

Do you like carpets? I suspect you will like  How to Read Islamic Carpets as much as I did. The author writes as fluently about how carpets are designed and woven as about their designs and evolution over time. He uses beautiful examples from the Metropolitan Museum of Art as illustrations, along with many examples of paintings that feature carpets, across the ages.

Were you taught that carpet weavers always include a flaw in the design to remind themselves they are not perfect? The author demolishes the myth absolutely and convincingly. A wonderful exploration of a gorgeous art form.
