* Future Crimes by Marc Goodman

Be afraid, be very afraid. Criminals are stalking us on the Internet and not only will they hijack our computers, our data, and our privacy, but they will also kill us (by infiltrating medical devices) and destroy civilization as we know it (by taking over the grid).  Future Crimes: Everything Is Connected, Everyone Is Vulnerable and What We Can Do About It raised my hackles both because it seems to think it’s absolutely shocking that criminals would exploit technology (let’s remember that scores of novels were once written about the evil consequences of forged letters!) and also because the remedies it suggests are puny, both in scope and in page count — just a measly little chapter at the end, not rising much above the level of “select a password other than 12345”. Duh.

If you enjoy horror films, you will love this book.
