*** Woke up Lonely by Fiona Maazel

Woke Up Lonely is a map romp, and could be nothing more than an enjoyable caper about a cult leader and his secret service hunter and ex-wife (and North Korea, and a world of tunnels under Cincinnati!). But right from its suspenseful first page we encounter complex characters, with secrets and memories and a history and complex relationships to match, especially the tortuous connections between the hero-parents and their more or less estranged young daughter. And the language is wonderful, precise and evocative.
