** The History of Us by Leah Stewart

The History of Us features three orphans and their aunt, who has sacrificed her career and much of her personal life to raise them (plus their selfish grandmother, who seems content to let her daughter pick up all the pieces while encouraging dissent between her and the children Рnice grandma!) And of course, there is the house, the massive Victorian house where the children were raised and which the aunt now wants to sell. However the (fully grown but not self-supporting) children decide that they should be allowed to live there forever and so they fight for the duration of the book. The first chapter, that sets up the fate of the aunt as guardian, is breathtaking, and the author has a knack for writing dialog, but the nattering of the entitled young adults wore me out as did the constant rehashing of whether Cincinnati is a big enough stage for ambitious people.
