I loved two funny British books this month:
- Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand, a goofy and sweet portrait of a conservative officer who goes about breaking down racist barriers
- The Weed that Strings the Mailman’s bag, the second installment of the Flavia De Luce mysteries, and I thought even better than the first one.
And another mystery, this one based in Alaska, White Sky, Black Ice.
And finally a more serious book, Devotion, a ruminating memoir that can please a non-ruminator like me!
